About DP World Saudi Arabia

DP World operates the container terminal at Jeddah Islamic Port, handling boxes between ship and yard for the shipping lines calling there. Its public tools page publishes a container status report: a single row describing where a container stands now, with the manifest, terminal entry and terminal exit times, the outbound vessel and voyage, and the ports of loading and discharge.

What the Jeddah report covers

Terminal handling

A container is manifested before it arrives, gated into the yard, and later lifted out onto its ship. Those three moments are the ones the terminal dates, and the interval between the second and third is the dwell time the box spent waiting in the yard.

Vessel and voyage

The outbound ship and its voyage number are published with the container, so it is clear which sailing a box was loaded onto. Two containers gated in on the same day can leave on different ships weeks apart, which the voyage numbers make visible.

Ports as LOCODEs

The ports of loading and discharge are published as UN/LOCODEs rather than names, with the first two letters giving the country. SAJED is Jeddah; a destination such as EGPSD or INMUN tells you where the box is bound even before the vessel sails.

Container detail

The report also carries the ISO type code, the verified gross mass, the line operator, whether the box is laden or empty and its load-permit status. Those describe the container rather than its journey, and they are kept alongside the timeline.

Finding your container number

Container numbers follow ISO 6346: three owner letters, a category letter of U, J or Z, then seven digits, for example ABCU1234567, which is a generic illustration rather than a real box. The number is stencilled on the container and printed on the bill of lading. It belongs to the shipping line, not to the terminal, which is why Track91 never offers DP World Jeddah as an automatic guess for one.

Reading the status

This is a snapshot, not a scan log. The terminal reports where the container stands now and dates only the manifest, the terminal entry and the terminal exit, so a timeline here has three entries rather than a running history. The terminal's own status line, such as loaded on vessel, is preferred for the headline because it can describe a stage those three dates cannot pin down. Times are published in the terminal's own clock with no offset, so Track91 reads them as Arabian Standard Time.

Scope of this report

The lookup is scoped to DP World's Jeddah terminal. A container that has never passed through Jeddah returns no record, even if it is moving perfectly well somewhere else, and the report says nothing about the sea leg once the ship has sailed. For the voyage itself, the shipping line named as the line operator is the source to ask.

Getting help with a container

The terminal deals with the shipping line and its agents rather than with cargo owners, so a forwarder or the line named on the bill of lading is the right contact. Quote the container number and, where you have it, the bill of lading. Track91 independently displays the published terminal data and cannot release a container or arrange a lift.

Frequently Asked Questions

Help with DP World Saudi Arabia tracking, delays and deliveries. Select a question to read the answer.

How do I check a DP World Jeddah container?

Choose DP World Saudi Arabia on Track91 and enter the container number. The result shows when the container was manifested, when it entered and left the terminal, the vessel and voyage it was loaded onto, and the ports at each end.

What format does a container number use?

Container numbers follow ISO 6346: three owner letters, a category letter of U, J or Z, then seven digits, for example ABCU1234567. The number belongs to the shipping line rather than to the terminal.

Why is DP World not suggested when I paste a container number?

A container number identifies the box, not who is handling it, and the same number is tracked by the shipping line, the forwarder and any terminal it passes through. Guessing DP World Jeddah from one would usually be wrong, so you have to choose it.

Is this a full shipment timeline?

No. The terminal publishes a status snapshot rather than a scan log, and only three of its columns carry a date: when the container was manifested, when it entered the terminal and when it left. Track91 builds the timeline from those three and shows the terminal's own status beside them.

What does "Loaded on vessel" mean?

The container has been lifted from the yard onto its outbound ship. The terminal-out time is when it left the yard, so that status and that timestamp describe the same moment.

What are POL and POD?

They are the port of loading and the port of discharge, published as UN/LOCODEs. SAJED is Jeddah, and a code such as EGPSD or INMUN is the destination port. The first two letters of a LOCODE are the country.

This covers only the Jeddah terminal, is that right?

Yes. The report is scoped to DP World's Jeddah operation, so a container that never passed through that terminal returns no record even if it exists elsewhere in the world.

Is Track91 affiliated with DP World?

No. Track91 is an independent tracking service displaying published terminal data. DP World and the shipping line remain responsible for the cargo and for customer enquiries. Contact your line or forwarder about a container.
