About Belpochta

Belpochta is the national postal operator of Belarus, running the branch network that accepts mail, the regional centres that sort it and the delivery offices that hand it over. Its tracking API returns one record per barcode with a full step list, each step carrying a numeric code, a Russian description, the office involved with its postcode, and flags marking border and customs handling.

Belpochta services

Branch acceptance

Items enter the network at an ОПС branch, and the first step names that branch with its six-digit postcode. Acceptance from a sender and acceptance into an office are published as separate codes, so it is clear whether the item was handed over at a counter or taken in from another office.

Sorting and despatch

Regional sorting sections process items and despatch them onward, published as entering processing and then being sent. Each step names the facility, so an item moving between towns shows its route through the named sorting sections rather than disappearing into a generic in-transit status.

Delivery office and handover

Arrival at the delivery office is its own step, distinct from arrival at any other office, and the handover to the recipient closes the timeline. An item showing arrival at a delivery office has reached the right branch but has not yet been given out.

Border and customs handling

Steps carry explicit flags marking whether they happened at a border crossing or in customs. Track91 reads those flags rather than guessing from the wording, so a customs step is published as customs handling even when its description is the same sentence used for an ordinary movement.

Finding your Belpochta barcode

Belpochta barcodes are two letters, nine digits and the country code BY, for example LA123456789BY, which is a generic illustration rather than a real item. The leading letters identify the service class. The barcode is printed on the posting receipt and on the label attached to the item. Copy it exactly, with no spaces.

Expected transit times

One to four days covers most domestic items, with same-town delivery often inside a day. Every step carries a unix timestamp, so the times shown are absolute instants rather than a reading of a local clock, and they are displayed in Belarusian time. International items take longer and their border and customs steps are flagged, which is usually where the extra days go.

Reading Belpochta statuses

Each step pairs a numeric code with a Russian sentence, and the code is the stable half, so Track91 maps it first and reads the wording only for codes it has not seen. Принято от отправителя is acceptance from the sender and Принято acceptance into an office. Поступило в обработку is processing, Отправлено a despatch, Поступило an arrival, Поступило в учреждение доставки arrival at the delivering branch, and Вручено the handover that closes the timeline.

Getting help with a Belpochta item

The office named in the newest step is the one holding the item and the right place to ask about a delay, and its postcode is published alongside the name. Note that the Belpochta API refuses connections from outside Belarus, so Track91 reaches it through a relay; a lookup that fails is more often that route being unavailable than the item being unknown. Track91 independently displays the published history and cannot redirect an item or open a trace.

Understanding these updates

Track91 provides live shipment status and real-time tracking updates through its carrier integrations. Results may be cached between updates, so check the carrier event timestamps when comparing progress. Track91 is independent of Belpochta. Frequently Asked Questions

Help with Belpochta tracking, delays and deliveries. Select a question to read the answer.

How do I track a Belpochta item?

Choose Belpochta on Track91 and enter the barcode from the posting receipt. The timeline shows the office that accepted the item, each sorting and delivery office it passed through, and the handover.

What format does a Belpochta barcode use?

Belarusian postal barcodes are two letters, nine digits and the country code BY, for example LA123456789BY. The letters identify the service class. Copy the barcode exactly, with no spaces, as printed on the receipt.

How long does a Belpochta item take?

One to four days covers most domestic items. An item posted and delivered in the same town often moves within a day, while one crossing regions passes through a regional sorting centre, which the timeline names explicitly.

Why are Belpochta statuses in Russian?

Belpochta publishes its steps in Russian, each with a numeric code beside the wording. Track91 maps the code because it is the stable half across service classes, and shows the carrier's own wording as the event text.

What does ОПС mean on the timeline?

ОПС is the Belarusian abbreviation for a post office branch, so a place such as ОПС №1 г.Каменец is branch number 1 in the town of Kamyanets. The six-digit office postcode is shown alongside it.

What does "Вручено" mean?

It records the item being handed to the recipient and closes the timeline. "Поступило" before it means the item reached an office, and "Поступило в учреждение доставки" means it reached the office that will deliver it.

Why does tracking sometimes take longer to load?

The Belpochta API refuses connections from outside Belarus, so Track91 routes the lookup through a relay. That adds a little time but is what makes the shipment visible at all from elsewhere.

Is Track91 affiliated with Belpochta?

No. Track91 is an independent tracking service displaying published shipment events. Belpochta remains responsible for carriage and customer enquiries. Contact your local post office about a delivery problem.
