Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most common queries about
USPS tracking, delays, and deliveries.
How do I track a USPS international postal item?
Enter the complete international postal reference from your receipt or sender’s confirmation and select USPS. Track91 shows available events from the Universal Postal Union’s Global Track and Trace service. Postal coverage varies, so compare missing information with the official USPS tracker.
What USPS tracking number format does Track91 accept?
This integration accepts 13-character international references consisting of two letters, nine digits and US, for example EA123456789US. Domestic numeric USPS labels use a different format. Use the official USPS website for those labels, and keep the full international reference when tracking an eligible postal item here.
How long does USPS international delivery take?
USPS lists 3–5 business days for Priority Mail Express International in many major markets and 6–10 business days for Priority Mail International. Actual time depends on origin, destination and customs. Other international services have different conditions, so check the purchased service before assessing a delay.
Why is my USPS international tracking not updating?
Postal events appear when participating operators publish recorded handling updates. Transport between facilities or countries may not generate an immediate new scan. Check the last confirmed event and the official USPS tracker; contact USPS when the expected service period has passed or an enquiry is needed.
What does item presented to import customs mean?
It means the international item has reached an import-customs processing stage. It does not confirm customs release or final delivery. Later return-from-customs, delivery-office or delivery scans provide further progress. The responsible postal operator or customs authority can explain any documents or charges required.
Is a USPS estimated delivery date a confirmed delivery?
No. A delivery estimate is a forecast and can change as postal handling continues. Track91 keeps projected dates separate from confirmed events. An actual final-delivery scan is needed to confirm delivery; a forecast alone does not change the item’s latest recorded transit or customs status.
Can I track USPS without the postal item number?
This tracker requires the item reference issued for the mailing. Check the posting receipt, shipping confirmation or sender’s records if it is missing. A recipient name, address, telephone number or shop order number cannot substitute for that reference in this public tracking lookup.
Who should I contact about delayed USPS international mail?
Contact USPS using its official customer-service options and provide the complete reference, mailing date, service and destination. USPS publishes 1-800-222-1811 for domestic and international tracking support. Keep the receipt available so the sender or postal service can advise on the appropriate enquiry procedure.
Is Track91 affiliated with USPS?
No. Track91 is an independent tracking service and is not affiliated with the United States Postal Service or the Universal Postal Union. It displays available postal events for convenience; official enquiries, delivery instructions and postal claims remain with the relevant operator.
